I’ve been practicing to get my layout and perspective skills better. Every morning I draw from books and pictures. I’m getting better I think.

The other day I went to the Shakespearean festival for the souvenir shop. I drew some frames of the outdoor theater. I’ve been noticing something kind of spooky: my drawings from life go through a filter when they reach my hand. At the festival, the drawings I got were different than what I saw. The angles were different, usually more dynamic, than where I was actually sitting.
So now I’m a little spooked out. Looking through my sketchbook, I’m realizing that the drawing practice is affecting how I see things when I draw for life. Or at least, how my hand draws things.
I’m trying to figure out if this is good or bad. I’m going to say…not bad, but jeez, it is a little freaky to know your hand is doing something your mind didn’t tell it to.
